Golden Globes Spin Off Axis Due To Writers Strike

This is one show that has totaly spun off of it's axis due to the writers being on strike.

The Golden Globe awards have become just as big as the Oscars have always been. Every year we look forward to these Hollywood events every bit as much as the stars do themselves.

We might not be the ones who get to get all dressed up and we might not be the ones who get any of the praise and attention, but we sure do love to watch those that do while they enjoy it all.

The writer's strike that has been going on since November of 2007 has already had an impact on The Golden Globes awards show. Even though it did go on, so to speak, it had none of the glamour and appealing star power that draws us to watch it every year. It was a dull and anything but shining gold ceremony.

This particular Golden Globes ceremony was more like a news conference than a glitzy awards show. The titles were told for many of the categories for some films and shows, but there just was not any pizzazz at all.

There were no great or budding stars there to accept the awards. They could not give those drawn out thank you speeches that we all pretend to get bored with listening to. How we missed it!

The Golden Globe conference its self, as it were, was held on Sunday night, January 13th, 2008 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in The International Ballroom. It was allowed to be covered by the media and they did.

We got to see clips of the announcements on news channels like CNN and others. It was the talk of many of the celebrity shows like Showbiz Tonight that comes on CNN.

The next big Hollywood event due to come is of course, The Oscar Awards. Right now it is thought that it will air as scheduled on February 24th, 2008 on a Sunday night. However if any further complications arise from the writer strike, that schedule may get changed.

The strike has affected so many of the programs that we watch on television and hear over the radio and has also stunted the production of many Hollywood films that are in the process of being made.

Everyone on both sides would like to have the strike resolved as soon as possible and it can not come soon enough for all of us fans who somehow feel like we are the ones being cheated.
